Simultaneously taking stock in time and places lost and combating pandemic fatigue, crwn reflects on music’s place, as well as its absence, in an alternate reality brought upon by the pandemic. “This project was the first time I felt compelled to create again, to fulfill a need to create something new,” he shares. Driven by longing, “Moment to Moment” traces the movements that define life around him: especially in the live performance venues and clubs he’s performed in the last eight years, many are now shut down.

Experimenting with house and funk elements, “Moment to Moment” and “Time to Time” are the first tracks he’s made since the Luzon-wide quarantine began in March this year, apart from his work as the drummer for alternative band She’s Only Sixteen. On breaking the monotony, crwn says, “Being in quarantine is like being stuck in a time loop; every moment is the same and I just wanted something that can be hopeful and positive even through a turbulent and uncertain time.”
